What can I make out of my fabric scraps?

So you have all this old fabric, bits and pieces, odds and ends. And you say i don't want to throw this away, what do i do with it? Make little plushies! Like these! (left and right) One is a mushroom and the other is Peppermint Butler from Adventure Time, my favorite character! You can give them as presents, or make them for school projects, you name it!

Lemon and Sugar Face Scrub

Lemon and Sugar Face Scrub
This is a fresh and summery scrub, I use it very often. May I say i don't get very many blemishes, maybe this is the cause?

  1.  Grab a medium sized bowl and pour 1/2 a cup of bakers sugar into the bowl
  2. Take about a table spoon and a 1/2 of honey a drizzle it into the sugar
  3. Stir well
  4. When stirred, add the juice of half a lemon
  5. Stir well
  6. Spread evenly around face
  7. Gently scrub your face with a warm wash cloth
  8. Finally, rinse your face!
You might be wondering, "What  are these things doing to my face?"
Well, honey contains potassium, and bacteria cannot survive in it, so it rids your face of all bacteria. Honey is also an antti-irritant, it is used in sunscreen because some of the chemicals are irritating to the skin. Lemon juice helps get rid of blemishes because it is so acidic (don't use too much, you might burn your face!). And lastly sugar makes for good scrubbing!

I hope your face feels fresh and clean after this!

Oatmeal Face Mask

This rejuvenating face mask not only helps to fight against acne, but moisturizes your skin too.

What you'll need:

  • 1/4 cup of uncooked oatmeal
  • 2 tbsp of aloe vera; preferably juice, but any form will do
  • 2 tbsp of lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp of honey
  • 1 tbsp of sea salt
  1. Start by adding the dry ingredients into a blender. Blend until you get  fine texture.
  2. Add the aloe vera, lemon juice, and honey and stir together.
  3. Let the mask settle to harden for a few minutes.
  4. Apply the mask to slightly damp skin. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Rinse off the mask with warm water. Pat face dry and apply a moisturizer.
And that's it! Making it is fun, but what can these super ingredients really do for your skin??

Oatmeal gently provides deep pore cleansing and helps replenish moisture to your face.
Aloe Vera has natural salicylic acid which fights against acne and works to remove dead skin cells.
Lemon Juice evens your skin tone and extracts excess bacteria and oil.
Honey contains many nutrients and helps to fight bacteria. It also has anti-inflammatory properties.
Sea Salt gently exfoliates your skin while providing vitamins that promote skin cell growth.

My Style: Taylor

The Outfit (Left side primarily)
I own this outfit pretty much...except the shoes (saving up for those!) But this is my ideal summer outfit. See, I play (and love) baseball, and go and watch many games over the summer with my friends, and because of this I wanted something to be comfortable in and be able to run around in (No heels!).

Oops! Just realized something. :) I forgot to include my aviator sunglasses! I wear them everywhere, and the great thing is they go well with every outfit and never go out of style!
The Makeup (Spread everywhere) is just pink lipgloss and thats it. Summer is my relaxation time..I hang out with friends, run around...go to movies, you get the sort. I'm always on the go, so my one and only necessity is lipgloss :D . I usually hardly wear any makeup because a) I'm not really allowed too and b) I prefer the really natural look-- its just more me.

The Jewelry: I LOVE JEWELRY.
I personally think no outfit is complete without earrings and/or necklace. Right now, I'm into feathers, and my favorite colors are turquoise and purple. I like the little believe ring because its cute and just gives the outfit a complete look.

I made this set using photos on polyvore.com. It's a fashion website with templates and loads of pictures of clothes. Plus, you can share your's and view others! Try it out!

  • Apply blush in a circular motion
  • The right foundation should practically disappear
  • In winter, be sure to wear moisturizing lip products to prevent chapped lips
  • Fruits and veggies are good for the complexion so eat up!
  • Bangs are good for people with large foreheads

The Outfit (Far left bottom corner)
I do not "own" this outfit, but it is my ideal one :). A cropped sweater, dark jeans, fur wedges, and vintage jewelry. This outfit is cozy and you can move in it. That is really important to me because my friends and I are super energetic. If we try to watch a movie, it ends in a crazy game of hide and seek.

The Makeup (Far left top corner)
Sparkley silver, rose or white eye shadow, applied lightly. Black mascara, I may be blonde, but my lashes are dark brown. Hot pink lips, but I don't think I would actually wear hot pink, but its cute :).

P.S. I made this lovely mash up of photos on polyvore.com. A great fashion website were you can make and share your templates! I definitely recommend it!

My style: Jazz

The Outfit:
This is my ideal outfit. While I don't own it, I wish I did! :) The skirt is cream with embroidered detail at the hem of the skirt. I love the look of tanks and cardigans, which is why the skirt is paired with a simple pink tank top and a drapey sweater. The belt would go over both the skirt and the cardigan, literally tying the look together. I also love gladiator sandals.

The Makeup:
A soft pink for my lids, with a bronze color blended in the outer corner. Dark brown liner and black mascara. A peachy pink blush would be applied lightly. For my lips, I would choose an almost nude lipstick and top it off with a sparkly pink lip gloss.

Glam Bow Nails

These stunning nails are beautiful, glamorous, and really fun to do. Try it!
What you'll need:
  • Pink polish
  • White polish
  • Silver polish
  • Black striper/ nail art polish
  • Big silver glitter
  • Black Polish
  • Dotting tool
  • Top Coat
  1. First, paint your nails with two coats of pink nail polish.  I used N.Y.C's Charming Rose Creme.
  2. Paint on a thick french tip with white polish. I did mine freehand, but you can use tape to get a clean edge. Keep in mind that the tip will be covered up, so it doesn't have to be perfect. I used Sally Hansen's White On.
  3. Using the silver nail polish, go over the french tip. This step is optional, but I believe it adds to the glam effect :) I used Wet n'Wild's Silvivor.
  4. Using the black striper, draw a straight line on the top of the french tip. I used Sinful Colors' Time Off.
  5. Apply the silver glitter. I used a nail polish that had three layers, chunky glitter, pink, and microglitter. I just took the top layer onto a piece of paper, then used my dotting tool to pick it up and place it on my nail. If its easier to adhere, you can apply a clear coat of polish for the glitter to stick to. I used a Justice polish.
  6. Take some black polish and put it on a piece of paper. Using a dotting tool, create a triangle near the side of your nail. Create an identical triangle next to that, forming your bow shape. I used Sinful Colors' Black on Black.
  7. Take the white polish on a dotting tool and create a line down the middle of the bow.
  8. Finish it off with a top coat. And you're done!
I hope you enjoyed this. Thank you for reading! <3 Jazz

Rolled Up Side Bun

This side bun is super easy and super quick to do. Try it!
What you'll need:
  • hairbrush
  • hair elastic
  • bobby pins
  1. First, brush out your hair and get all the tangles out.
  2. Gather your hair into a side ponytail. I kept mine lower, but you can place it higher if you want.
  3. Wrap the ends of the ponytail around your finger. This could be harder if you have layers, like me, so wrap it
  4. Slip your finger out, and start to roll the loop up the ponytail.
  5. Position your bun where you want, and pin in place! I used Goody Spin Pins to hold the bun, then went back with bobby pins to secure any flyaways.

All done! Thanks for reading! <3 Jazz
